Christmas Ornaments for a Good Cause

As you will have seen, Isabella and I made several ornaments and other decorations to sell at this year's Christmas Gift Fayre. I made some elephants and owls (elephants because they're an iconic endangered species, owls because they're endangered right here in England). These were super simple to make, and all you need is:

Fabric or felt of your choice
Scissors
Sewing or embroidery thread to match your fabric
On display
A sewing needle
A sewing machine (or you can do this by hand if not in a rush).

I used the patterns from these two Pinterest pages:

All of our earnings will be used for our Roots and Shoots club as part of our Silver Award Project. Here are some pictures of the ornaments in progress:

Welcome to Our Blog!

Hey, this is Alyssa and Emma! We've just started our Girl Scout Silver Award project and this is our blog about it!

After looking around for some possible issues, we decided endangered animals and the environment were the most important to us. This is why we chose the Roots and Shoots organization as our charity to support. We'll be doing this by starting a Roots and Shoots club at our school and helping it to continue and develop. You can also look out for us at some school events raising awareness for the environment!
